Totally organic, our tester Alex liked how it cradled all her joints when sleeping on her side, offering support while staying soft.

Good to know:Our tester couldn't fault the mattress apart from motion transfer. As expected with luxury mattresses, this bed is pretty pricey at around $3000 for a queen. However, it's often on sale, so you might not have to pay full price.

Why we love itIf you want an organic mattress but can't quite stretch to the high price point that many of these beds command, the Birch Luxe is a excellent choice. A cashmere plush top combined with three layers of lumbar support and wool led our tester Kaitlin to declare that the Birch Luxe natural feels 'like you're at a posh hotel'. Eco-certified materials make this mattress completely organic too.

Good to knowMade of wool and cashmere, there is a concern this mattress could sleep hot. Best for those (like our tester) who can stay cool at night, it's not recommended for those who are prone to overheating. Watch out for warranties also. This one has a 25-year warranty, but after the first ten years, Birch will replace the mattress at only a fraction of the cost.

Why we love itSaatva is known for luxury mattresses, and the Zenhaven sits as one of their most premium beds. If you prefer a firmer sleep surface but want a bit of bounce, this dual-sided mattress won't disappoint.

Our tester Jill found that the Zenhaven 'feels as high-quality as it appears'. Unlike most firm mattresses, this latex option has a quilted pillowtop that makes for a bed with both comfort and support. This mattress kept Jill's spine aligned and body cushioned. Why we love itLuxury mattresses are usually expensive latex, but this hybrid mattress offer premium sleep for a fraction of the cost. Dreamcloud are almost always running a sale, which means this mattress is often under $800 forr a queen bed. Thicker than most mattresses, this 14 inch hybrid has five layers of luxury, including a quilted memory foam, gel foam, wrapped coils and a cozy cashmere top for high-performance slumber. Our tester Camryn said this merge of spring and foam provides the perfect balance between comfort and support, while the cooling gel promotes airflow and regulates body temperature. It offered enough give to relieve pressure when sleeping in all positions.

Good to knowThis isn't the plushest mattress, as the hybrid quality means it's firmer than DreamCloud's usual foam options. Our tester was a little disappointed she didn't 'sink in' as expected, and her husband felt some motion transfer.

What we loved on testThere's cashmere in the cover of this bed, sheared from free-range mountain goats. It's almost ridiculous, but makes for an incredibly comfortable, eco-friendly latex bed. It has excellent motion isolation and sleeps surprisingly cool, and even the stitching is beautiful. Our tester Kaitlin found that it feels 'like you're at a posh hotel'.

Good to knowThere's no in-home set up on a twin, full, or queen-size bed, which is particularly frustrating given how heavy this mattress is - it's definitely a two-person job, so single people might struggle to set up this bed. It's fairly expensive, and won't work for those with latex allergies.

Once you know you're how much you're willing to spend, it's work out your specific sleep needs. Pick the mattress that's best for tackling with the biggest disturbance to your sleep. If you sleep hot, get a cooling mattress, and if you're easily woken by your partner turning over in the night, get a mattress with minimal motion transfer. Our awards are a good place to start.
